I'm 2 weeks old today

Happy 2 week old to me.....here I am in my bouncy chair raising my legs in the air and looking at them.....all that I can do at 2 weeks old...amazing. Yesterday mommy put me on my tummy and I rolled over on my side (twice!). It scared me though and then I started crying. I like tummy time but I get frustrated because I want to hold my head up and crawl. Mom says "not so fast kiddo" and then mutters something about not having childproofed the house yet....she is crazy. Doesn't she know I will get into stuff anyways?

Happy Anniversary!

4 years ago today we were married. Wow! It seems like yesterday. I am so grateful every day of the marriage we have and now of our newest addition to our family. We are so very lucky. Little Miss Parker has just heard the story of how we met and I reassured her that she will find her Prince Charming one day too. Though it will be hard for him to measure up to her father.

Happy Anniversary Michael.

Love,
Kristy

Welcome Parker Elizabeth Stewart

Born November 30th at 5:11 pm.....6 lbs, 1 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. We were totally not expecting her arrival this early but are blessed she is here and in good health. We are biased but we think she is the most beautiful baby in the world. We are doing well adjusting to the change of parenthood. Parker particularly likes the wee hours of the morning to awaken and not go back to sleep in her bassinet but be held so we are adjusting to not much sleep. She is already exerting her confidence and strength by lifting her head off my chest or mat and wants to lift it higher and gets frustrated. I can already envision her walking days....I think I have it hard now I can't wait till she can walk around and get into everything. I am sure I will have plenty of more pictures to post as I get a chance in between feedings and naps. Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season. Santa came early to our household.

We have wood floors....

Here is peek at the wood floors...before being refinished. The workers were awesome that pulled up the old floor and installed the new wood floors. They have worked all weekend to finish this for us. It looks much better in person and of course, will look better once they have been sanded and finished. We expect the work to begin on the sanding on Friday. The floor has to acclimate to our house for a few days before they can begin. Hopefully in about a week and a half I will have some finished floors to show you....and then we can begin moving our furniture in and get some things settled downstairs....Hmmm, wonder when those cabinets will be here :)

Sneak peek of nursery

Here is a sneak peek of the nursery...it's almost there. Just need to get the final touches on the wall decorations and crib bedding and hang the doors and a few other things....however, should she arrive now, we would be ready....Yippie! I have even begun packing her things for the hospital. Now I just need to get my stuff in order.

Works in Progress

Work at the new house has begun in earnest now. As you can see, Michael has been painting the nursery. I am actually gettting it all organized today so I will share more pics later. We have ripped the kitchen out and the wood floor men are here (yes, on a Sunday) finishing the install so next week this time they can sand and stain. The floor has to aclimate to the house for 7 days. I will share some before pics of the floor when they finish. It is looking really good.

Off to more organizing (nesting).

Happy Halloween!

So I decided to dress up as a pregnant woman this year :)

Here is the latest picture of me and my belly. I have 7 weeks from today left to go. Starting to worry about coming early....guess that is natural.

Thank You

Thanks to Kathy and Lynn for hosting a great shower Saturday evening for Michael and I. Michael enjoyed looking at all the baby gifts....and trying to figure out what to do with them all :) We are swimming in pink and green...this baby better be a GIRL.

FINALLY!

We have a sales contract on our old house in N. Chatt. Looks as if we will close on 11/17. Please pray that the closing does not fall through...they have yet to inspect and finalize their financing so I am holding my breath (as I talk to the contractor, Lowes, the tile people, and the appliance people to get things in order for our new home on Signal). Lots of work to be done in both locations so we can officially call Signal Mountain home.

Look how cute....

Look how cute this centerpiece is.....my neighbor, Susie, otherwise known as Martha Stewart made this for a baby shower she hosted and then let us borrow it for our shower Saturday evening. Susie is so creative....perfect centerpiece for Fall showers.

Michael Voted in as Partner

The shareholders at the firm recently voted on this year's prospects to make partner. Michael was up for a vote this year and made it in with flying colors....we hear there was not even a discussion in regard to the topic.

I am very proud of him and he is excited and relieved to have the vote over. He will not officially be a shareholder until January 1.

Hope all is well with everyone....I have been a bad blogger...more posts coming up to update everyone on all that has been going on.

The shopping has begun

The shopping began in earnest this weekend. Nancy and I attended an awesome consignment sale in Rome, GA. I am now hooked and will have to find more sales like this. Such good deals and amazing selection. Check out the goods I scored above. I love the little blue jeans with the embroidery on them and of course, I had to get the plaid black and red dress so our little one can look cool while supporting her favorite team (the UGA bulldawgs...sorry Michael). Got a fun item too and the all practical bathtub....I mean, why pay full price for a plastic tub! This child better be a girl :)

Some days you need a message like this....taken from Melody's blog:

...what if I’d been fed a diet of dandelion greens, raw and cooked and maybe even fried…day after day…maybe with some cream of wheat once in a a while, no sugar…perhaps a slice of bologna on occasion…but, mostly dandelion greens…
….and then, after months and months of that…I get to have crème brulee…..
Let me tell you…it always tastes really good…but it would taste a thousand times better after eating the bitterness of dandelion greens for a while….
Aren’t you thankful for a nice cool breeze, and a spot of shade on a miserably hot day? The spot of shade would just be a spot of shade if it wasn’t for the unbearable heat. How about the way it feels to walk into a warm coffee shop when you’re Christmas shopping during a blizzard? The coffee shop would just be a coffee shop without the blizzard to make you appreciate all that is great about it.
…and that’s how life is…it helps to make sense of things that aren’t so pleasant. Without the bitterness, we would never, ever, know the sweet…we wouldn’t even know that there was such a thing…unless there was a hard day, a hug would just be a hug…a smile would just be a smile…unless there was difficulty, a finish line would just be a ribbon across the road.
I am thankful for dandelion greens to make the crème brulee so much sweeter.

Katy Wins, Katy Wins

Another great year of derby racing for the Stewart family and the Tilley family. On June 3rd, Katy pulled off some more firsts in Athens, TN. She is now the first winner of the Athens master's division and the first one to go to 4 All Americans from Athens, TN....one in every division and one in the rally division for Super Stock. Wish Katy luck as she races in Akron on July 22nd.

Here is an article written by Katy's future brother in law, Tom:
14-YEAR-OLD TENNESSEE SOAP BOX DERBY RACER MAKES HISTORY, SPREADS IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT CANCER
ATHENS, Tenn. --
Katy Tilley, a 14-year-old soap box derby veteran, made history last Saturday by winning her third local title and advancing to theAll-American Soap Box Derby National Championships in Akron, Ohio, for the fourth time. Speeding down the track in a pink and blue car that featured the pink breast cancer ribbon and the words, "Find a Cure," Tilley defeated a field of male participants in Athens' first-ever Masters Division competition."When we got into this sport five years ago, we could have never imagined that Katy would make four trips to the national championships," Katy's mother, Judy Tilley, said. "This year we knew it was going to be her final go-around and her final car. We wanted to make this last experience special as a family. Now we're headed to Akron for the final time, and Katy is racing to 'Find a cure.' It has definitely turned out to be special."Katy's upcoming appearance in Akron this July marks the fourth of her career. In her three previous appearances in the stock, super-stock and super-stock rally divisions her family cheered her on despite the presence of the psychological stress of cancer. Judy was battling breast cancer and undergoing chemotherapy treatments during the 2002 championships. In addition Katy's grandfather Eugene Tilley was simultaneously battling coloncancer (he passed two days after Katy's return from Akron). Then in 2003, with Judy going through her final stages of chemotherapy treatment, the family went to Akron bearing the thought of Judy's father, CharlieHolbert, and his personal battle with pancreatic cancer. He succumbed to the disease that October.Katy reached the national championships again as a super-stock rally racer in July of 2004, and Judy once again made the trip to Akron this time bearing the thought of the painful breast reconstruction surgery that was impending upon her return home to Tennessee.Katy took a one-year hiatus from the racetrack during the summer of 2005 before deciding to try her hand in this year's inaugural Athens, Tenn.,Master Division competition. The thought of cancer was still present,bu tthis time the message was a positive one. Judy Tilley has been in remissionfor the past two years, although she still has the chemotherapy port that was surgically inserted into her chest. Judy, her husband, David, and the entire Tilley family have become active in the fight against cancer and the"Find a Cure" campaign. That activism led to Katy's new pink,cancer-themed racecar.Katy is the only racer in the 13-year history of the Athens championships to win each division (stock, super-stock and masters). She is also the onlyAthens racer to earn four trips to the national championships. This year's championships are July 22 at Derby Downs in Akron."We'll finally be able to make the trip to Akron and really enjoy it,"David said. "In years past, it was like walking on pins and needles because there was always someone in the family fighting cancer. This year we can go, have a good time and increase awareness with Katy's car."

Knocking Your Socks off at the REAL Rock City

Here's beautiful Yosemite National Park. Thanks to our wonderful friends, Tim and Val, for showing us around San Fran and Yosemite. We had a great trip. Wish Chattanooga were just as spectacular so we could show you around here but you will have to settle for Rock City and whitewater rafting on the Ocoee. Michael and I also enjoyed the beautiful Napa Valley while out on the west coast....Michael enjoyed some good wine and I made him buy bottles of all the good stuff so we can crack it open on D-Day (Dec 19th). We also enjoyed the Charles Schultz (creator of the Peanuts) museum..a must see in Santa Rosa.

Spring has Sprung and....We have GREEN grass

It is like 78 degrees here today....love it. Look at the GREEN grass we have....for those of you that don't know the story, we had an "accident" last year and somehow all the grass died...we have now learned to label all the pesticide/fertilizer/round up containers in the basement! The accident was well worth it bc look at the lush grass we have now....and Michael was such a wonderful hubby today and bought flowers to plant....he is officially the landscaper...put me in a nursery and my head starts to hurt.

We also enjoyed the warm weather today and rode our bikes down to our favorite neighborhood deli (The Vine Street Market) and had lunch....a couple of weeks ago we took the new bicycles out for a spin on the River Walk....I didn't take the camera with me but it was beautiful....I'll take it next time. Glad we decided to get bicycles for our anniversary...lots of fun...once I can master riding up the hills around here.
